In May 2017 we began fundraising for our Big Build Appeal. Having identified a new home for Let's Play that would allow us to reach more young people and extend our services we reached out to the community and were overwhelmed by the support we received.
The building, a dog training centre in Twyford, required suitable flooring, a kitchen and heating and that was just the beginning.
Once the lease was signed in November 2017 the real work began.
Richard Spencer Builders organised a team of people who came and painted the entire building for us and built a partition wall. It was during the depths of Winter and the building had no heating! They were awesome and by the time they had finished we could see the start of our new home.
Once the carpet was fitted we were ready for the kitchen to be installed. Paul Bates of SWH Builders did a fab job taking time out of his Christmas Break - things were really starting to take shape.
On a cold wet Saturday in January an incredible team from DHL came to our portacabin at St Mary's School at 7.30 in the morning and moved us to our new home. A slick and professional team, everything was in the new premises by 0930am! We can't thank them enough.
Claire Dumbreck, of Propel Technology, put Let's Play forward for a £10k 'One Family Foundation' Community Award which we successfully secured with much support from the local community. Claire went above and beyond and also secured a charity heating installation 'Heat For Good' with Viessmann as our new building had no heating!
Heat For Good is an open membership of heating suppliers and installers, administered by Viessmann. Installers gave up their time for free to fit the heating system travelling from as far afield as London, Lincoln and Brighton to help us. Huge thanks to these guys!

There are so many people from our local community that we need to thank!
Prodrive - donated a suite of office furniture. Alison Hollis organised a team of people to pack and deliver the furniture whilst Jackie Irwin and her husband, Les, went above and beyond and came to fit the desks together taking time out of their busy weekend. Jackie & Les also brought one of the Prodrive Subaru's to Canal Day and spent a day with us fundraising for the project. They are the dream team and have been such a tremendous support for which we are truly grateful.
Bloxham Mill - Ray Avery, Managing Director, has been part of the Let's Play journey for a very long time and this continued when we launched our Big Build Appeal. Ray has donated much needed office storage, office stationery & put us in touch with Jonathan Ruffle of Fresh FX who has been following our journey & we look forward to sharing the film soon. The cherry on the cake was our swish new road side sign that Ray provided for us.
Puzzle Construction - Thanks to Graham who came and adjusted our ramp outside the building.
Morrisons - Emma Boisselle, Charity Champion, is a huge supporter of Let's Play and very generously donated a microwave for our new kitchen.
Variety, the children's charity - we applied to the charity for a grant which we were awarded and used the funds to buy a Fibre Optic Waterfall and soft play house for our activity room.
The team at Let's Play worked incredibly hard to get the project ship shape and ready for After-school Club, opening our doors for the first session in January 2018 - a seamless transition with no break in service!
The children and young people absolutely love their new play space and so do the staff.
